A Courtyard Apartment

Design Intent and Conceptual Design for a 2-bed 230sqm apartment on a very windy hill-top with beautiful views overlooking the valley.
The top level ‘Courtyard’ was derived from the need for ‘usable’ protected outdoor space, due to wind exposure.
The Entrance hall, with view into the Courtyard towards the valley, serves as the nucleus for the entire apartment.
During construction, an outdoor terrace was added and the Courtyard was transformed into the family indoor ‘Living space' with a fully glazed front overlooking the valley. An additional floor with open courtyard was added.
